So very true. I speak from a perspective of marrying at eighteen. Knowing what I do now, I’m glad my sons haven’t stepped right into relationships before getting to know themselves. Yes, I realize that the same is even more true for young women, but I never had a daughter, so I have no experience parenting one. We have to teach our children to avoid the “fall in love" trap for the better idea of self love, and then maybe share our lives with another human being if they’re reasonable about love, too.
