I’m always excited to learn a piece from history and follow it to the here and now. Thank you for the education on “proper” English. Now I can listen better to dialects with an appreciation of their origins.
It’s always funny to hear people speak about “proper “ ways of doing things. The real question is “Can I understand what you’re saying?“ Being able to communicate is more important than judging the person you’re speaking to. If we set false heuristics and racism aside, we just might learn something from the other person.
