I have epilepsy and was ghosted because my GP didn’t believe that I had it (according to the nurse) and refused to refer me to a neurologist. It took a full year to get treated because he refused to take my symptoms seriously. I filed a complaint.

It’s been my experience that doctors aren’t as professionally detached as this article implies. They are human just like everyone else, and they hold all the power as gatekeepers to medical treatments.
