I didn’t play make believe about weddings as a little girl, either. I wanted to /be/ married, but the wedding was something I didn’t care about. Instead, my best friend and maid of honor chose everything, including the pattern and material of her dress. I didn’t go dress shopping--my mom made my dress for $100. I made my own veil and wedding topper, and learned that I really enjoyed making costumes, but that was about it. That and I only got married so my mom could see it. My husband and I would have eloped except for the peer pressure.
Save yourself the money, expense, and stress. Eloping is valid, takes less time, and you can spend money on your honeymoon, because that’s actually fun. ☺
