Finding a contractor who will speak to ME instead of asking for my husband. My husband doesn't have my knowledge base for construction, and it's irritating to deal with. Also, getting told, "Oh, you be careful picking that up, it's heavy." I might be 5'2" and nearing 50, but I have been picking up 50-100 pound things fairly easily all my life. I know what I shouldn't be carrying, and I don't need anyone to warn me.
