As a gamer with brain issues, VR is fun, but not easy to use. The headsets are heavy, battery power gets eaten exponentially, and most of the user interface is a level of clunky that yanks you out of immersion. Ever tried typing in one of these things? Horrendous.
Maybe one day when humans are brain-chipped and full-body immersion suits are part of the package, the metaverse might succeed in the way rich billionaires imagine. Or maybe they're hoping outside life becomes so dystopian that we will all use VR like an escape drug.
I don't foresee anything in a headset replacing nature walks any time soon. Just saying.
