Absolutely. The parents of Gen Y were sold a bill of false goods about how to raise children with higher self-esteems. It backfired massively and is by no means Gen Y’s fault. On the plus side, I’d like to believe that Gen Y has a far better grasp on how meaningless “participation trophies” are.
